Ah! You’re castable just as you are. You’re funny lady. Comedy is the one thing where we’re all weird looking and no one cares. Sure, attractiveness can help just like it can in any arena, but keep doing what you’re doing with your jokes and you’ll be fine.

And mooooost of my comedy goals for right now are just: lose (more) weight and look super castable.
Ugh. I’m the worst. But so is the world.
Standups opening for a band is actually pretty traditional. It happens a lot, for example Tommy Davidson used to open for Patti LaBelle, Richard Pryor for Nina Simone. Kenny G has comics open for him a lot. I know comics who have opened for ICP (yikes) and other bands. Actually my comedy show that I produce is often right before a band so in a sense we “open” for them.
It sounds like this was a really weird structure though. I really like Guster and I know from seeing them that they always do weird/goofy stuff. Sounds like that was maybe what they were going for and it didn’t really work :(

There is construction on a sewage pipeline near my room and the scent occasionally wafts in. I haven’t gotten used to it and each time I gasp and fear that I’ve shit myself…And then I remember I’m alone and there’s no one to be disgusted by me. The joys of solo travel!
